Jacquie Clark
As a ceramicist and artist, Jacquie works from her blissful garden studio near the banks of the River Earn, creating small batch functional homewares designed for everyday use, as well as unique decorative pieces of wall art and sculpture. Jacquie enjoys running occasional clay workshops and teaching sessions from her garden studio, and works under the name Kinkell Studio.
Aesthetic
Jacquie’s creative vision is deeply rooted in the awe-inspiring beauty of Scotland’s landscapes, from the distant shores of the Outer Hebrides, where turquoise waters meet expansive white sandy beaches, to the towering majesty of the Cairngorm mountains. Closer to home, the gentle hills and tranquil rivers of Perthshire offer inspiration. Yet, it’s often the smallest moments in nature that spark her imagination, like the busy bumblebee at work in her garden.
Each piece Jacquie creates is original and designed to bring artistry and a slice of joy into everyday life.
Practice
Jacquie transforms the timeless medium of clay into extraordinary functional and decorative pieces. With a passion for both wheel throwing and hand building, her working processes include trimming and shaping, bisque firing and then either glaze dipping or applying glaze by hand, depending on what each piece needs. A final kiln firing reveals the transformation, beauty and individual story of each piece.
At times, Jacquie incorporates reclaimed wood gathered during walks along the river, into her mixed media ceramic pieces, and she also enjoys painting as an alternative creative outlet.
Jacquie is also delighted to create custom pieces made to order, bringing your ideas to life as unique and meaningful pottery.
