Perthshire Artisan Sheila Roberts is a member of Printmakers Scotland and her work will feature in their inaugural Festival of Printmaking, running this weekend 16-18 August at University of Stirling.
Printmakers Scotland is an artists-led group set up in 2023 to create a community for printmakers across Scotland. It also wants to help people understand and appreciate the art of original printmaking and hold an annual Festival, celebrating and featuring the best of Scottish Printmaking.
This is the first event of it's kind in Scotland and will feature work from over 40 printmakers from around the country, along with demonstrations of various printmaking processes and opportunites to join in, and of course the chance to buy some unique and affordable prints.
Perthshire Artisan Sheila Roberts creates intricate limited edition prints inspired by her love of nature, Scotland’s wildlife and in fabulous contrast, the power of Tribal Art. Working from her Comrie based garden studio, Sheila’s designs are made through soft etchings using layers of techniques working with metal, acid, wax, paper and finally ink. A complicated and fascinating process involving many layers and stages. It's exciting to see her work feature in this new Festival of Printmaking.
Full information about the group and the Festival can be viewed on the Printmakers of Scotland website.
