Artisan Process
Bothy is from one of Jon’s recent collections which celebrates his unique picture book aesthetic. Jon’s work is of a contemporary, original style, as equally whimsical and imagined as it is detailed and natural.
Bothy comes from a collection of sketches and ideas that Jon is working through with the aim of creating a special picture book about migration, a celebration of community and the wild parts of Scotland.
In shades of orange ranging from pastel peach to a burnt ochre, Jon has created an illustration with real depth whilst exploring just one colour. Bothy was created using a backdrop of watercolour wash and then pencil crayons.
Jon hopes that his art can spark the imaginations of those that view his work and aid parents in their bedtime storytelling.
