Paolozzi’s Garden (Imagined)
Originally made by Katy for a mosaic exhibition, as her response to the core theme of Paolozzi. Katy envisaged his having a bright and colourful garden (as were his mosaics), but with a dark sculptural focal point (as were most of his sculptures)
The mosaic is made of recycled materials including bone china crockery, a large ceramic vase, various stoneware items and wine bottle glass.

Artisan Process
Working with views over the river Earn and hills beyond, Katy is frequently inspired by this landscape, which is reflected in her mosaics. Flowers in abundance feature in much of her works.
Recycled materials inspire and stimulate many of her ideas, including broken china, where she knows the provenance of each tile, creating a traditional patchwork concept.
