Sgrafitto Vase with Red

This wheel-thrown earthenware vase is perfect for displaying fresh spring posies or dried flowers. Like all Ceri's ceramics, it is an individually decorated piece with an emphasis on freehand pattern and mark-making. Inspired by plant cells, this pattern is painted and sgraffito-ed onto the raw clay. After the first bisq firing it has been dipped in clear glaze with a red lava glaze applied to highlighted areas.
